Oh Hey. It's Me Again.

1. I am looking forward to a lot of things. Especially some mini road trips we have planned. California. Seattle. Sunshine somewhere. That's all I need.

2. Something kind of embarassing that I still love anyway is cartoons in the Sunday paper. Always have. Always will. Growing up, we would always eat doughnuts and read the paper together before church. I'm assuming that's where my love for humor and the news stems from.

3. My favorite car is an Audi A5 Coupe. or a Range Rover. Pocket change, right?

4. If I could pick one type of weather to live with for the rest of my life it would be well, I would say sunny and 70s. But. I'm an Oregonian to the core. I lived a year with constant sunshine and I felt like I was in the twilight zone.

5. My favorite thing to do after a bad/stressful day is work out or eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's. Or both. Ok. Maybe just the ice cream. Depends. Don't judge!

6. This weekend will be full of food and time with the girls.

7. If I were a color, I'd be a rainbow, of course because, I'm me and I can't be defined by one color. Maybe brown? Cause it's a combination of colors...and I'm a nut.

Crave: Kettle Corn

{via}

Sweet and salty is one of my favorite flavor combos. Typical girl. French fries in my milkshake. Potato Chips with chocolate chips. It's all good.

Daniel and I like to make a big bowl of these fluffy kernels on a regular basis. Tag team style.
He shakes the pot for me, and I supervise. Sometimes sports are on, ok, usually sports are on, and he gets a little sidetracked, so the shaking can easily transform into...no shaking. And burning.
Silly boy.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels

Directions

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once hot, stir in the sugar and popcorn. Cover, and shake the pot constantly to keep the sugar from burning. Once the popping has slowed to once every 2 to 3 seconds, remove the pot from the heat and continue to shake for a few minutes until the popping has stopped. Pour into a large bowl, and allow to cool, stirring occasionally to break up large clumps.Sprinkle with salt (to your taste preference). Enjoy!

Sunday Highlights

Super Fans

{camping for tickets}

Daniel pretty much hit the jackpot when he married me. I mean, not only am I beautiful, smart, hilarious, and extremely humble...{hardy.har.har}...I'm a big fan of sports. ESPN and 95.5 the Game, are constantly running in our house and car.
{I understand, to many, this would be your nightmare. Don't worry. I make sure we balance it all out with some Project Runway and Teen Mom}

{a game of HORSE in the Dominican Republic}

{Daniel's Groom Cake. obvi}

Our favorite sports team of all time? It is and will always be, the Portland TrailBlazers.
My little claim to fame is that my grandparents sponsored them back in the 90s, so our whole family would eat dinner with the teams before they played, and then go watch the game.
To this day, I still have a crush on Terry Porter. Don't worry. Daniel does too.

{Go Blazers!}

Now, if only I could magically squeeze into my old cheerleading outfit from 1994. The white turtleneck really makes it stand out.

My Makeup Bag

Ahhh. Makeup. War paint. What have you.
As much as I love beauty products, I do have to admit a few things: Usually, I just dab on some chapstick, curl my lashes, pinch my cheeks, and away I go.
My pretty bottles and sparkly shadows wait patiently for a night out on the town. Then there was that one time I went 4 months without wearing any makeup. I've never felt more beautiful.
A true kind of beauty.

{My Two Cents}

*I invest in good brushes and splurge on face products/eyeshadows (high pigments).
*Trend items: ex. Coral lipstick/Liquid liner/etc. Buy Cheap (wet N' wild/e.l.f)! No reason to spend a bunch of money on something you might only wear once or twice.
*Expensive Mascara...meh. Honestly. I feel like I've used them all, and really, mascara is mascara. A tube of black inky stuff. Covergirl LashBlast is one of my favorite drugstore picks. {I'm a hypocrite though: I've always used DiorShow just because the MUA would always use it on me back in my modeling days. Yes. I've been brainwashed.}

Lindsay over at Scenic Glory is holding a "What's in Your Makeup Case?" contest. If you'd like to vote for me, go {here} and leave a, "Bon Bon is #1!" comment. Or, "Go Bon Bon Go!" I don't know. I'm just throwing things out there. I think I got some sparkles in my brain.

If I win, maybe I'll finally make that eyeliner tutorial you all, (all 7 of you), have been requesting.
And if I don't win. Well. I'll still make the tutorial. I'm nice like that.

Belly Flop

Our weekend consisted of sleep, Buffalo Wild Wings, DQ Blizzards, the NBA Playoffs, and watching this video about 17 times.
Kind of a Charlie-Sheen-Winning-esque weekend all around.
Minus any drugs or debauchery. So, not at all like Charlie Sheen. Just normal people's version of winning in life.

P.S. Please excuse the {blog-slack-love-lack} that's been going on here and there lately. I have a reeeeaaaalllly good excuse. But you can't know just yet.
Hence, the short blog posts. My lips are sealed.
If I talk too much, my secret will just slip out. I can't help it.
Like that one time I told you what you were getting for your birthday.
Right Dad? And Grandpa? And James? And...

Yep.
I sing like a canary if I'm under any sort of secret-keeping pressure.

It's All Goooood

Whim Wham Life Tip #1

Two minute dance breaks are so good for the soul.
And when I say two, sometimes I mean 102.

P.S. Pelvic thrusts...always a great choice.

Lack of Zest

{via}

Oh. my. goodness. This weekend was just too little and too much all at the same time. Reading that sentence doesn't even make sense to me, and I wrote it. It will though...make sense...sometime soon. I know, I know, now you're all intrigued and confused.

Did I mention my life should be a movie?
Or a book?
Or a play?
Or a soap opera?

And of course, I would play myself as myself. I do have a flair for the dramatic.

Expect a true Whim Wham Weekend post soon.
The Whimmiest Whammiest Weekendiest post of all time.

I think I have my zest back.

No Secrets Here

{the real deal}

BOO! Scared you, right? Don't worry, it's just little ol' me. I know things look different around these parts, but it's all good. I'm still "me." Your still "you." Change is good. Embrace the change.

A BIG HUMONGOUS GIGANTIC ENORMOUS SMORGASBORD THANKS to the fabulous {Christa} for sharing her talented blog designer self here at The Whim Wham Life.

Seriously. She's a doll.

In other news.

I was checking my blog stats info stuff, and noticed several visits from a Females-Hot-Sox website. I'm assuming I have {this} post to thank. With one hand covering my eyes, I decided to check them out. Hoping I wouldn't be scarred for life.

Speaking of scarred for life: That one week where both Phyllis on The Office and Bon Bon in Real Life were flashed. Oh the irony. Or that one time a few weeks ago, where I googled a picture of a grapefruit and somehow ended up on a Russian Mail-Order Bride website.

My life should be a movie.

P.S. No permanent damage done from hot sox, (a website dedicated to the joys of knee high socks?)Slightly intriguing and creepy.

P.P.S. I think I need to read my Bible now.

Oh hey, have a fantastic and non-creepy weekend!

Trickle Up & Down Theory

My hair has seen many a style change over the past 23 years. Every length imaginable and numerous shades of brown and black. Nothing too drastic. Besides the traumatic summer of '93 that I spent as a boy. Short hair was less of a cute pixie cut on me, and more of an, "awww, what a cute little guy!" cut. Thanks mom.

Now that my hair is long and 100% girly these days, I've been thinking of jumping on the {Ombre} bandwagon. It's messy, imperfect, low-maintenance. Pretty much my middle name.

Then I stumbled on this picture of me back in 2005...with Ombre hair? The look I'm giving says, "You're laughing at my overgrown roots now...well, you can catch this hair color spreading across the globe in about 6 years, thank you very much."

Or something like that.

Crystal Clear

The other day, the stud hubs came home from work, (normal), walked through the door, (normal), saw me peeking out from the bedroom, (sometimes normal), sitting with one leg stretched towards the light, (occasionally normal), with a pair of tweezers, (maybe normal), and blood all over my foot, (uhhhhh).

A few days earlier I had knocked over my glass of iced tea. Broken glass and sticky sugary liquid all over the wood floor.
I'm 23 years old and I need a plastic sippy cup.

Fast forward to me and my foot, somehow managing to find the last shard of glass that made it's magical pilgrimage to the Land of Right-Before-Our-Bedroom-Door.

I had flashbacks of my Dad helping me pull out things I had stepped on throughout my life: a tack, itchy bark dust, splinters of a broken lightbulb, remnants of what once had been a picture frame...

Now it's Daniel's turn. He has his hands full being married to me.

Nothing better than a man you love, kissing your boo-boos and handing you a Transformers Band-Aid.

Whim Wham Weekend #10

Friday Highlights

*{Five Guys}. Bacon cheeseburgers and fries.

*Honestly. Can't remember anything else. Either that was the entire highlight of our evening, or I really do have a terrible memory and it's a darn good thing that I'm blogging my life to keep track of it.

Saturday Highlights

*Mini-road trip down to Salem to visit family/friends.

*Mini-road trip in our new little car! Well. New to us. That's all that matters.

*Late night hanging out in downtown Salem at {Ventis}. Hopping.

Sunday Highlights

*Church on the Hill. Sigh. Can I hire a crane and move the entire church closer to where we live? There's an app for that, right?

*Lunch at {LoveLove Teriyaki}.

*24th Birthday dinner for one of Daniel's best friends.

*Costco Chocolate Birthday Cake...we've had it about 4 times this month alone.

*Food coma.

And that was that.
This week is off to a rocky start...
Hi. I'm Bon Bon. I'm a girl. I have hormones. Watch out.
But. I have a feeling it'll be sunny again. Real soon.
Ok. Like now. I'm just being dramatic.
What's new?

Happy Tuesday to you {& me}!

Excuses, Excuses, and a Winner

Ok, so, the lovely Shalyn from {Laugh Until Your Cheeks Hurt}, this post is for you! YOU won the Belo Bands Giveaway! Congratulations! I'll email you soon to grab your info and all that good stuff.

Everyone else reading...well, this post is lame-ville for you. I've got nothing else to offer today.
We spent all weekend out of town, and I barely remembered I had a blog.

I mean, that jungle lady hair picture above? It looks like I barely remembered to shower.

The food coma may have done me in.

Actually.

1. When am I NOT in a food coma?

2. You all are winners. Gold stars for everyone! There. Something for all of you.

I'm such a giver.

xoxo
